What is Safarkin?

Safarkin is a free travel-safety app for motorcycle riders in India. It records your rides, ranks help on the road by safety, and alerts the riders around you when you need them.

The name joins safar, a journey, with kin, your people. It starts with riders and grows to every way India travels: road trips, buses, trains and flights.

Safety on every kilometre

When it goes wrong, riders come.

Every safety tool works with the phone in your pocket, and the most important ones work without internet.

SOS beacon

Hold for 1.5 seconds

Alerts riders near you, your ride group and your crew, with your location and what's wrong. You see who's on the way and when they arrive.

Crash detection

30 seconds to say I'm OK

A hard impact or a violent stop, then no movement, starts a countdown. No answer, and the SOS goes out by itself.

Live trip link

Family follows, no app

One link shows where you are and your route so far. It ends when you arrive, and they get a "reached safely" note.

No internet

SOS by text message

Out of data? Safarkin opens a text to your emergency contacts with an exact map link. Phone signal is enough.

Low battery

15% and your crew knows

When your phone runs low on a ride, Safarkin turns on your live link and tells your crew where you were.

Check-in timer

Not there by 7? We tell them.

Set when you expect to arrive. If you don't check in, your crew is alerted with your last known location.

Help nearby

The nearest pump isn't always the right one.

Fuel, mechanics, hospitals, police, washrooms, stays, food and stores, each with a safety score from 0 to 100 and the reasons behind it.

01

Open when you need it. Open now, and open all night after dark.

02

Busy and well reviewed. Google ratings, weighted by how many people reviewed.

03

What riders say. Lighting, bike parking, women staff, clean washrooms, how safe they felt.

04

Women's ratings first. For women riders, women's ratings lead the score.

Women first

Built for the women who ride.

Safety for women isn't a setting. It decides who sees what, who gets alerted first and who gets in.

Women-first SOS

Your crew and verified women riders nearby are alerted first. Everyone else follows if nobody's on the way.

Women-only rides

Visible only to women. ID-verified women join directly; anyone else asks the organiser.

Women-safe places

Stops and washrooms rated by women riders, so you know where to pull over.

Private by default

Your gender is never shown. Hide from strangers, block and report in two taps.

Made for the ride

Record it. Remember it.

Not another photo feed. A riding log built on real GPS.

Screen-off recording

Pocket it and ride

Route, distance, moving time and top speed, recorded with the screen off.

Stops with a story

Drop a stop in one tap

The exact spot, a photo and a note for the dhaba, the view or the road ahead.

Rider passport

Passes you've crossed

Khardung La, Rohtang, Sela: passes count only when your recorded route crosses them.

Group rides

Plan, ride, split

Flag-off time, meeting point, live positions of your group and a fair split of fuel, food and stays.

Verified riders

Know who's coming

Phone and government ID verification, so riders answering an SOS are who they say they are.

Ride quality

Real rides rank

A leaderboard built from proven rides and useful details, never from follower counts.

Every journey, next

Bikes first. Every traveller next.

The same live link, SOS and safety-ranked help for every way you travel.

Questions

Asked on the road.

What is Safarkin?

Safarkin is a free travel-safety app for motorcycle riders in India. It records your rides, finds safety-ranked fuel, mechanics, hospitals and stays, and alerts riders near you, your crew and your family when you need help.

How does the SOS work?

Hold the SOS button for 1.5 seconds. Safarkin alerts riders within reach of your location, your ride group and your crew, shows them where you are, and lets you see who is on the way. Without internet, it opens a text to your emergency contacts with a map link. Safarkin is not an emergency service: in an emergency, call 112.

Does it detect crashes?

Yes. While a ride is recording, Safarkin watches for a hard impact or a violent stop followed by no movement. It counts down 30 seconds, and if you don't tap I'm OK, it sends an SOS with your location. It works with the phone in your pocket.

Is it safe for women riders?

Women's safety comes first. Women-first SOS alerts your crew and verified women riders first. Women-only rides are visible only to women, and ID-verified women join directly while others ask the organiser. Places carry safety ratings from women riders, and your gender is never shown on your profile.

How are places ranked for safety?

Each place gets a score from 0 to 100, built from whether it is open when you need it, its Google reviews, and what riders report about lighting, parking, staff and how safe they felt. For women riders, ratings from women count first.

Does it work with the screen off?

Yes. Recording runs as a foreground service with a notification, so your route, crash detection and safety alerts keep working with the screen off or the phone in your pocket.

Is Safarkin free?

Yes, Safarkin is free for riders. It is in beta on Android in India; join the waitlist below to get an invite.

Is it only for motorcycles?

Safarkin starts with motorcycle riders. Road trips by car, buses, trains and flights come next, with the same safety tools for every kind of traveller.
